Solidworks Static Study – Rayan El-Kotob

Background

I was curious in learning more about the simulation features in Solidworks and decided to take on a personal project to practice. I followed great tutorial by CAD CAM TUTORIAL to make the BMW M5 Rim that I conducted the study on.

The follow are screenshots of the mesh and the addition of the fixtures and respectable forces. 5000N was simulated on the outer portion of the rim.

Reflection

Building the rim was frustrating but rewarding. I enjoyed that the tutorial lead me through using unfamiliar tools and features in Solidworks, however, I’d like for future projects that are based on pre-existing design to be made from technical drawings instead of videos.
